What a joy for the heart, ears and soul of music lovers. This CD breathes new life into these classic Christmas favorites. In addition to the familiar carols and songs associated with this holiday, there are some unfamiliar works that should also soon be considered classics for Christmas. "Some Children See Him" is about how children of different etnicities see the Christ Child as one of their own kind. "The Jesus Gift" is one of the most sumptuous newer Christmas songs to be written in the last 25 years. The 12 Days after Christmas is an incredibly funny "send-up" of what happens to the 12 gifts after the love affair has ended. Unlike most Christmas albums, there is a great variety of accompanying styles and instruments. A superb group of instrumentalists bring lots of refreshing new tonal colors to this CD. Harpsichord, Organ, Electronic Keyboards and even classical Guitar adorn these lovely pieces. Ms. Barbour has been blessed with a beautiful voice that she shares with us through this CD. We as listeners are blessed that we can experience the joy and beauty of this CD all year long. This recording makes a wonderful gift for those who love music. Buy early and often.
