I've just seen Mr. Patilla performing live last Friday here in Tegucigalpa. The man is an extraordinary guitarist. He played during a couple of hours and included most of the work that appears on his first CD. I strongly recommend this CD to everyone interested in classical guitar music with a strong Latin-American orientation. Additionally, you will have the chance to meet a young talented guitarist with a promissory future (I hope).

Mr. Patilla has taken classical guitar into a new era with his passionate interpretations of this collection of South American pieces. I have never enjoyed guitar more. Simply stated, pure artistry.

I pre-ordered this CD from Amazon.Com. As a student of Michael Patilla, I've seen how seamless he handles the classical guitar. His debut CD is no different.

The songs in the CD are all of South American origin, and the title song in particular is enough to purchase the CD for. The sounds seem to cover every area of Classical Guitar, including the quick-paced style on the one hand, but also tranquil, peaceful effects produced by this amazing instrument, all in one CD.

If you're looking for a CD that captures that South American classical sound in a natural, perfectly rounded way, then Michael Patilla's 'Septiembre' is what you need. This CD is a must for any serious classical guitar student or fan, and I look forward to hearing more of his work!
