Present Sounds' inaugural release includes three new works for orchestra by Seattle composers Christian Asplund, Tom Baker and Christopher DeLaurenti The recording features guitarist Michael Partington, the Pacific Rims Percussion Quartet, and the Seattle Creative Orchestra, Roger Nelson, conductor. The three works brought together for this recording reflect the diverse nature of the Seattle new-music scene. These works share a sense of immediacy in their exploration of new formal principles and sonic landscapes.
