I've been listening to Elverskud over and over--it's the story of Herr Oluf's encounter with the Erlking's daughter on his wedding eve, and how she curses him to die when he rejects her--it's thrillingly sung, and wonderful, dramatic, music from the Romantic period. If you like Weber & Schubert, don't miss their Danish contemporary!
