Album Description
Most notably in Canada, Richard Raymond has played with the Montreal, Toronto, Quebec, and Vancouver Symphony Orchestras. He has played in Germany at the Ruhr Klavier-Festival, in China with the Shanghai Symphony, at New York’s Lincoln Center, as well as in Italy and France. Julius Reubke composed only a few keyboard pieces and two major works. These compositions are today considered among the most worthy accomplishments of the Romantic generation. He wrote the works in a single burst of creativity, using Liszt’s famous Sonata in B minor as a model. Reubke masters a harmonic language comparable to the most daringly contemporary compositions of his teacher. Liszt considered Reubke his most promising student.

Passionate and exciting performance of Reubke's only piano Sonata. Also includes an excellent performance of Beethoven's piano Sonata No. 21. Mr. Raymond has amazing technique and control.
