Editorial Reviews This is the first recording of a work by Mahler in Mexico. A milestone, not only for this reason, but also because all the performers: orchestra, conductor, soloists and choirs are Mexican artists. Here Maestro Savin has chosen from a combination of internationally renowned artists with young talents to produce a trilling performance of a work that only first rate orchestras dare to approach. The Orquesta Sinfonica de Xalapa stands to its level as well as the technical expertise of the recording engineers to produce an explosive sound as well to capture subtle passages in this symphony, well known for its complexities and universal values.
