Philippe Hersant, born in Rome in 1948, is now established as one of the leading figures on the French musical scene. His highly distinctive musical language is totally independent of all currently prevailing musical styles and trends. His first compositions appeared in 1978 and his output now stands at about 80 works. This recording features some of his more recent music.
