        Album Description

Sangita Kalanidhi ' is easily the best of M. S. Subbulakshmi's recordings for the classical music enthusiast.M.Subbulakshmi has cultivated impeccable diction in different languages of the lyrics she sings. She is known for attention to every detail such as breath control, pauses in the right places, voice modulation, variations in emphasis and breaking phrases in their proper components. For the Annamaaachaarya 'krithis', the lyrics were read repeatedly by an expert in Telugu to explicate the sense and methods of splitting the words and syllables for the musical scores, the whole thing was rehearsed until neither text nor notation was required for the recording session. Even more awesome was her mastery of the 'melakartha chakra' in 72 raagas, with epsilon variations between the raagas.
