Customer Reviews:
One of the greatest of modern composers.......2007-05-26
Leif Segerstam's music isn't easy, or melodic, but it isn't cold and forbidding, either. Segerstam writes in what I like to call a "melting clock" style, a term that might be familiar to you if you've ever seen Salvador Dali's paintings that include melting clocks. The "hard" forms of music become fluid in his hands; even the densest chords and tone clusters literally flow and melt into one another like opposing hurricanes that somehow miraculously mesh. And his music is full of emotion and excitement! A great find.
