Altogether a very disappointing disc. Neither the prise de son nor the state of instrument tuning show Souvigny at its best--certainly a surprise given the good work that the Temperaments label has done with other discs. Heurtematte's performance runs from cautious to outright stultifying. French Classic music ought soar with a giant ear-to-ear grin...this disc ever gets beyond an earthbound shrug.
