I wish this CD had been around when I was planning my wedding as it would have been great for helping the bride to select music! Still, it's wonderful to listen to now.

I've always enjoyed Great Wedding music and this album is no exception, but while reading some of the customer recommendations posted on this site I discovered a group by the name of MEHDl (pronounced medie). After an online search I found their site (S00THINGMUSIC,C0M) and listened to the samples...
I was instantly blown away by the quality of this music and so I gave it a try and now that I have listened to these CDs several times I really must say that although I'm still a Tomaso Albinoni fan of, I find MEHDl to be a great addition to this CD. I had them both in my multi-disc CD player during the wedding and love the way they compliment each other. I highly recommend that you give this artist a try or atleast just go listen to the samples, I have a feeling you'll be glad you did.

Highly recommended. Even has suggestions for pre-ceremony, processional, ceremony, and recessional inside. 2 different versions of Midsummer Night's Dream march included - one with trumpet and organ and one with a full orchestra. Lots of great selections, well recorded.

I used this cd to help me plan which songs I wanted to use for each part of the wedding. This cd helps you suggest the placement for the prelude, processional, ceremony and recessional. The cd mainly has classical songs, but it does have a few of "today's" songs. There could have been a few more songs they could have added. But overall, its a good cd.

Oh, So beautiful---- every track!!!!! My personal favorite has to be the soothing SERENATA. So, get comfy, put on the headphones so you won't miss a single note...... Andre Rieu's violin is magical!!!!!

Well, apparently I'm in the minority, but I found this CD disappointing. I bought it because I fell in love with "Song to the Moon" when I heard it on the radio, but this track and possibly the "Londonderry Air" are the only ones worth listening to. Although the melodies chosen for this album are indeed beautiful, the arrangements (Rieu's own) are poorly done. I would much more highly recommend Joshua Bell's Romance of the Violin, which has a similar theme, albeit restricted to classical tunes.

Try not to think about the cheesy "Andre Rieu in Tuscany" PBS special. This is a very pleasing program of selections of great romantic melodies, beautifully arranged. Few people are going to purchase a CD of Dvorak's Rusalka just to hear "Song to the Moon" so this is the place to hear it. And it's even better on Rieu's violin than in the original vocal version. Rieu plays perfectly in tune (not always easy in the higher registers of the violin) and has exquisite phrasing that brings out the musicality of even the most over-recorded selections.

Rhieu's arrangements (with Jo Huijts) have hints of "beautiful music" (think Ray Coniff) but only hints, and the result is very tasteful. For example, the piano obligato under the strings on "O mio babbino caro" makes you wish that Puccini had thought of that.

This is a wonderful album to listen to while relaxing and would make a great gift for someone who appreciates classical music but doesn't have specific preferences.

This one is one of my favorites of Andre Rieu. It's very romantic. It reminded me of my honeymoon in Vienna. I like to play it at home a lot. It lifts the spirit and touches the heart. Made me cry one time.

I enjoy André Rieu DVD Concerts very much. His New York concert was good, but I found it a bit ironic. He said that he enjoyed palying American music and yet a large part of the Broadway music he played was composed by a British composer Andrew Lloyd Webber. I was expecting to hear Irwin Berlin, Gershwin, Leonard Bernstein, Copland, or even the Beach Boys. What happened? I miss the performances of Carmen Monarca and the other Sopranos. The The Harlem Gospel Choir was good, but seemed out of place with what André usually plays. I was hoping to hear a tribute to the heroes of 9/11, but did not. Basically in did not match up to his others such as Tuscany.

Wonderful CD. I love all Andre's music and think that he can play any style perfectly. The violin solos are magical, his soloists are at the top of their form and the orchestra is once again magnificent. It's a very varied CD which makes it easy to listen to it again and again. And I do!! Would highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys Andre's music or who just enjoys quality orchestral music in general.

If you like light works for piano and orchestra, this is the BEST I have heard. With the popularity of movie themes in this genre, this CD will not disappoint you. There are some great undiscovered gems on this CD. Every pianist should have this to 'expand their horizons'. Simply the best!

These works are the result of Rota's mature 1960s writing style. He was at the peak of his popularity and decided to cut down on his film score output,(He was at that point producing 10 a year)devoting more time to "other" music. Inspired by Fellini's 1954 film "La Strada" he was commissioned by La Scala for a 1966 ballet by the same name. It utilizes themes from "La Strada" among others from Rota-Fellini collaborations. The melodic score was well received by the public. The themes are allowed to be fleshed out and blossom without the film action to impede them.
The String concerto(1967)is in four movements rooted by the 19th Century classical style. Soothing melodic gifts are displayed throughout, though none are borrowed from his films. The spirited finale galop requires keen virtuosity from the orchestra. 1963's Viscoti's "The Leopard" comprises of six short dances again in the late 19th Century tradition. One dance orchestrated by Rota was an unpublished waltz by Verdi. They were combined for a party scene in which all elements of the story converged. Muti and his della Scala orch. play with affection, not overdone by the SONY hidef sound. This disc is indispensible for the most devoted Rota audiophile.

When Nino Rota (1911-1979) decided to wean himself away from composing primarily for film, he did so gingerly--- with one foot in, one foot out, as the present assortment of esoteric compositions on this disc shows.

From Fellini's 1954 film, comes Rota's own ballet suite, La Strada, commissioned by La Scala (and staged in 1966), running some twenty-eight minutes in seven delightful and captivating tableaux. The Concerto For Strings (1964-65; rev. 1977) is similarly ingenious, tipping its hat, as it were, to baroque form (much in the same manner as Bloch does in his own Concerti Grossi). The Concerto is a fairly gentle, graceful work, exceptionally pleasing and well-designed, but seems a tease too short at only a mere fifteen or so minutes. The Dances for Visconti's film The Leopard (1963) were intended to punctuate an extended set piece revolving around a ballroom affair, dancing, intrigue; but even when extracted from the film, they are still nothing less than completely enchanting works.

Muti and the La Scala Philharmonic are in their element here; the delight is contagious, and the sound they make is beautiful, with a good, full recording to match.

I'm just getting into classical music at the tender age of 41 so I'm far from an expert here. Like another reviewer I heard about this CD (which had been nominated for a grammy) on NPR. It sounded interesting so I decided to buy it. And I'm really glad I did! The music is lively & playful in some parts and gentle & soothing in others. It makes perfect background music when I'm working. And the music sounds simply wonderful coming out of my new iPod Hi-Fi!

I had not heard of Richard Stoltzman (Clarinet) but this is a generous (66+ minutes)and wonderful CD. The musicians such as guitarist Gene Bertoncini and the English Chamber Orchestra are
excellent. "Sleepless in Seattle" is an upbeat tune and "Out of Africa" is simply beautiful. An excellent variety and treatment of these movie themes. Highly recommended. P.S. - The above
album title shows artist as "Eddie Gomez" - he does play on the album but Mr. Stoltzman is the "headliner."

First tune "The piano" made me get stuck.
And, I was moved to tears.

All the other tunes impress me,too.

This item made Richard Stoltzman to became My Most Favorite Artist of the world.

Now,10years have passed after I boght it.
But it never fades.
