Am not a musician but I love Mozart piano sonatas. So of dozens that I collect over just a couple of years, I think this performance is among the best I have.
O'Hora plays on modern instrument but he manages to create the imagination of music made for fortepiano, thus different technique. It all resolves O'Hora's immense knowledge of style and historical background of these sonatas, as much as his brilliant playing. He is considerate to develop the smallest details that even the star pianists usually omit.
A-minor is tense in Allegro, elegant in Andante and tragic in Presto.
Sonata "Semplice" is just a mastery of Alberi bass with touch of heavy rubato- beautiful!
Finally, A- major is just stylish in Andante, grazioso in Menuet and originally Mozart in Alla Turca. Bravo!
