    One rare case in music history is Juan del Encina(1469-1529).Spanish poet,composer, dramatist,and clergyman who had the protection of three popes... Poetry and musical composition for him were a "back to back" thing,as he would use his poems as text for many of his villancicos and romances.A large number of his works appear in the "Cancionero de Palacio"...This recording by Hesperion XX and Jordi Savall, gives us the opportunity to listen to how he combined so well music, and poetry...The rare thing about the music of Del Encina is that being a clergyman there are no sacred works accredited to him....
