This recording is for all music lovers. Not only do you get most impressive interpretations of such favorites as the ethereal "Claire de Lune" and Larsen's own passionate trascription of "Swan Lake Scene", there are treasures to be found . . . be sure to check out Saint-Saens 3rd Mazurka in B minor and Rachmaninoff's Prelude in G sharp minor.

This CD also includes three of performer/composer Larsen's original work, the poignant "Someday", the excitingly visual "Seagulls of Capri" and the cinematical "Bridges and Beyond".

Like a classic movie, each time this CD is played, more exciting revelations will be discovered.

This is the finest example of piano music covering samples of popular repertiore, such as Beethoven's "Fur Elise", Debussy's "Clair de Lune", and Carter Larsen's brilliant transcripion of Tschaikowsky's "Swan Lake".

I cannot even imagine a more superb rendition of these well-known masterpieces interspersed with some of the trully greatest finds of romantic piano music.

Larsen performs with sublime fluidity, never reminding us of the technical difficulties; instead we are tranported in to a world of pure expression along the lines of the great virtuosos of the ninteenth century.

The most sensational prize of all is Carter Larsen performing his own music! The last three tracks of this album show the composer in Larsen is equal to or even surpasses the performer. Rarely is a pianist of this magnitude blessed with a gift so natural and yet original.

Briges and Beyond is masterpiece of colour, passion, and vituosity composed in a style so exciting and yet so accessable that one can only look forward to other great recorings by this composer-pianist!
