Amazing CD.......2005-12-12

This CD is awesome! What a mystical experience. Perfect for relaxing to, reading to, doing Tarot to, doing ritual to, or just meditating to! It's going to be hard to find a CD that tops this one.

A treasure for the travel addict.......2001-12-17

As a travel writer, I've been enchanted by the music and spiritual ambience of places outside our normal range of experience in the US. This CD brings back all the mystery of the world's most enigmatic sites, from Kathmandu to Cairo, Spitsbergen to Patagonia, Hanoi to Nuku'alofa, and Jaisalmer to Moorea. It's a treasure.

Incredible CD. Really. If you want to take an international journey without artificial assistance (except your sound system), this album provides the trip. I was given this album several years ago by someone who doesn't like "new age" music. Yet, I would not classify this work in that category. I have only listened to the soundbites, provided by Amazon, to compare this album with Chris' other works. It is not the same. This is one of the best albums I own. When I am upset, cannot sleep or just need to change the subject in my head's jibberish--it's the only thing that works for me. Thanks Chris.

A mystical experience!.......1998-09-04

This cd ranks very highly as one of Chris' best works to date and receives my highest recommendation! The sounds, both vocal and instrumental, are soothing to the mind as well as the soul. Images of ancient temples will come to mind as you sit back and 'feel' the music.

Not his best effort.......1998-06-13

Pretty disappointing considering some of his earlier work, especially his collaborations with Paul Voudouris. I guess it's an attempt at a more ethnic style of new age music, but he has done much better.

Persian Love Songs & Mystic Chants.......2002-05-09

Shusha has an incredible voice - earthy and pure - so beautiful that it stands alone and can carry a song without any accompanying instruments at all. I am studying Farsi and have spent a great deal of time trying to find Persian music that fills my soul. So much Persian music has a production value I don't care for, rendering the music rather cheap and tinny-sounding (the organs! those strings!). But this album, with Shusha's sublime voice, accompanied by simple acoustic instruments captures all of the beauty of the Persian culture. The only thing that would make this CD perfect would be to have included the lyrics.

I would love to receive recommendations from other people who enjoyed this CD - please tell me where to find other Persian CDs of this caliber! I listen to it almost every day but would like to expand my enjoyment to other artists.

An interesting pairing.......2002-05-25

This is a two cd package in which the cd's are totally independent. The first cd is performed by the Hildegard von Bingen Choir from Como, Italy. Many of the selections are from Hildegard's music for the feast of Saint Ursula and the 11,000 Virgins. While I prefer the Anonymous 4 performance, this is a solid performance at a much lower cost.

The second cd is of Bulgarian vocal ensembles - Bulgraian Television & Radio Folk Ensembles, Pirin Ensemble, Northern Ensemble, Bilyana Vocal Group, Dobroudja Ensemble, Trio Bulgarka, Pazardjik Folk Ensemble. As is frequently true of low priced cd's, there are no liner notes to translate the song titles. Therefore, I haven't a clue if the songs are "mystic" but they certainly aren't "chant". However, Bulgarian vocal music has an incredible harmonic structure worth exploring in live preformance or on cd. This particular cd is to be recommended for the variety of groups represented - consider it a sampler for other recordings.

All in all, this set is very listenable and an excellent buy.

I recently ordered both Digital Moodz cds: Metamorphosis and Levitation. They are both welcome additions to my growing new age collection. I have found some great new artists and music here on Amazon. Metamorphosis is excellent with its old world meets new world feel to it. Tracks like Within and True Virtue shine.

Levitation presents a darker mood than Metamorphosis yet manages to be smooth and dreamy. The track Ages of Time is a classic and there are many both cds. Both cds are knockouts. I look forward to more from this group in the future.

This is a very good CD. I am a big fan of the ethnic groovy new age music and this encompasses all of these styles and more.
I think this music has a broad appeal to many different genres of music. If you enjoy the boring, bland new age music, this cd is not for you but if you enjoy upbeat and unique sounds this cd you will enjoy.

I first found Digital Moodz by accident on the web at their site - digitalmoodz.com. I bought "Metamorphosis" and have really enjoyed listening to this CD. I knew it would be good from the opening track "Mist" right through to the end. There is much here to enjoy from ambient downtempo to upbeat and uplifing tracks. The track "Within" is my favorite but I like them all.

DM makes a great 1st impression in Metamorphosis. From the opening track's haunting but inviting flutes "Call of Wind" to the energizing jazzy spanish guitar "Mist", Digital Moodz covers a wide spectrum of sounds. All the tracks are great, but my favorites are the relaxing "True Virtue" (Gregorian chants, wonderful flutes), "Within" (excellence) and energetic "Light of Truth". Metamorphosis has songs for every mood and feeling. Great CD!
