The orderly construction of Handel's Water Music has been proven to heighten retention when played while studying. It was written for King George, who was having trouble thinking clearly and making wise decisions for his realm. Handel wrote the music for riverboat performance on the Thames; hence the name "Water Music." Listening to the performance of this music enabled the king to think clearly and increased his ability to make wise decisions. I recommend it to anyone interested in improving their creativity and mental vitality. It speaks well of an age when music was considered sacred and composers saw their responsibility of providing profitable music for the public.
