I'm perplexed by this........2000-05-11
I truly can't figure this one out. Kagel being one of my favorite composers, I was really happy to have found a CD of recent works as most of Kagel's music I had heard was/is from the 60's and 70's.
The contents of this CD came as a TOTAL shock as all of the music is tonal and, to my ears, not the least bit experimental. I'm not sure what's been happening over at the Kagel camp, but I can't even begin to understand why such a champion of experimental music would turn to writing conservative music like this.
