Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Brilliant, beautiful, thoughtful, sublimely musical.......2001-07-14

I've played this disc dozens of times and enjoy it more and more as time passes. Scodanibbio's compositions are beautiful, inventive, and hold up very well to repeated listening.

As for his technique-- he is a true master, and has developed a unique sound. You really have to hear it to appreciate it. Fear not... this is definitely NOT one of those semi-random "lets beat up the bass and do a bunch of weird stuff!" discs! Instead, the beauty of the compositions and playing is captivating from the very beginning.

I heard Mr. Scodanibbio play selections from this disc live at the ISB convention. He got the most enthusiastic applause of any session I attended there. I was fascinated to hear him play live the music I had become so familiar with on the recording. That was over a month ago, and I'm getting all moist-eyed just remembering it!

In my large collection of bass CDs, his "Geografia" and "Voyage" discs shine in the short list of super favorites. This is real music!
