5 out of 5 stars The art of eloquence in music !.......2007-01-06

The musical art certainly has lost a good part of its meaning. And this fact increased notably after the WW2. It would seem that certain spiritual energy turned off the light in order to get simply applauses of the gallery. The primordial aura that should prevail in a concert has been replaced for fireworks, kind hearts and cornets.

Just a few number of directors of the recent past knew to maintain this atmosphere. Giulini, Wand, Kertesz, Stokowski, De Sabata, Fricsay, Hans Zender, Horenstein, and obviously Sandor Vegh. Among the new generations, we should name Segerstam, Thielemans, Termirkanov, Barenboim, and Gustavo Dudamel, but they are honorable exceptions.

That inner tension, sublime conviction, and whole commitment is carved in relief since the first bars. It's not a question of style, refinement or secondary adjectives.

Most of Vegh' s performances were loaded of wholeness, integrity and lyric passion. That anima disposition enhanced virtually all what he directed. And this is exactly what we will find at the moment to listen these treasured recordings.

Don' t miss it!
