Editorial Reviews Lincoln Mayorga is the embodiment of versatility, yet his foundation of technique and historical perspective success transcends the varied worlds of concert music, popular music studio work and jazz. Born and raised in Los Angeles, he is the descendant of an impressive pianistic line that begins with Beethoven and continues through Czerny, Leschetizky, Schnabel and his own teacher, Aube Tzerko. While developing his extensive repertoire of classical and romantic European piano music, he displayed an affinity for more popular American styles. For many years, Lincoln enjoyed one of the busiest studio careers in Hollywood. He was the staff pianist for Walt Disney Studios and contributed to the soundtracks of such motion pictures as "Chinatown," "Pete's Dragon," "The Competition," "The Rose," and "Ragtime," to name a few. His television credits include "Little House on the Prairie," "Highway to Heaven," "Dallas," and original scores for "Fame."
About the Artist
Douglas Webster is fast winning acclaim as one of America's most accomplished and versatile singers. He is active on recital, opera and Broadway stages as well as in studio recordings and educational outreach. To travel and perform has been a life-long dream for Webster. As a teacher, he has been the artistic director of the Musical Theater Week program in Breckenridge, Colorado for the past two seasons. The program, as conceived and originally funded by Webster, is a venue where young singers can study under the guidance of successfully working Broadway singers. In between his appearances in Les Miserables (National Tour, Broadway) he was awarded a Concert Artists Guild prize and the Joy In Singing Award for recitalists. In opera, his roles have ranged from the title role in Sousa's El Capitan (Zephyr Records) to the drifter, Top in Copland's The Tender Land (Koch Records). He made his Metropolitan Opera debut singing in a shower on stage (literally). Most recentl! y, he sang the role of "Kurt" the Nazi in the American reading/recording of Michel Legrand's new musical project, L'Amour Fantôme. Douglas Webster's recent orchestral appearances have included Orff's Carmina Burana, Brahms' Requiem and Broadway pops concerts with major orchestras across the country. Formerly with the trio, "BRAVO Broadway!" he now enjoys the company of two of his favorite singing colleagues in a program called,"The Broadway Baritones".
