The muse of Astor Piazzolla was so profound that fans may never get a chance to hear every note he recorded, but Unmixed is another step in the direction of completeness.
When I shop for CDs, I always look to see if there is any "new" Piazzolla on the shelf. The last couple times I haven't been disappointed.
Unmixed offers some cuts like "Vuelvo Al Sur" that are familiar to me, but the vast majority of the 14 pieces are arrangements I have not heard before. Several are performed by musicians who were members of APs many musical formations.
I like the entire CD. Since no song list is provided, I will list them. The titles will be largely familiar to AP connoisseurs, but the arrangements should be deliciously new to many of us.

Album Description
The Other Side / El Otro Lado is a fusion of Argentina's traditional music, both tango and folklore, with jazz overtones--along the lines of what the great Astor Piazzolla used to do. This project was born in 1997 out of the artistic encounter in Boston, MA, of Argentine vocalist Katie Viqueira with Uruguayan composer Nando Michelin. The CD features songs by great Argentine composers (Astor Piazzolla, Eladia Blazquez, Mariano Mores, Peteco Carabajal and others) with highly creative arrangements and a superb vocal interpretation. El disco de Katie es un verdadero tributo a la musica argentina. La fusion del jazz con folklore argentino es impresionante, las canciones cobran nueva vigencia bajo la voz de Katie y los arreglos de Nando Michelin.
