Editorial Reviews The album contains fourteen fully orchestrated choral selections that have been professionally mixed with a meticulous attention that such beautiful music deserves. Under the direction of Ralph Farris, the CD was recorded in the Old South Church in Boston's Copley Square. Having discovered the most gracious Mrs. Faxon at a choral concert here in the White Mountains of New Hampshire, we at Hedgehog Hill have gone to great length and expense to do justice to the irrepresible spirit and music of this brilliant composer and arranger. Although those in the Boston area know well of Mrs. Faxon, and her music has been performed across the nation by orchestras and choral groups of the highest repute, personal fame has eluded her, a situation that we wish to rectify. Since winning first prize in the prestigious National Composer's Clinic back in 1941, Nancy Faxon has created over a hundred choral and orchesteral works, both religious and secular, all of which have been commissioned. She and her late husband, George Faxon, worked closely with members of the Boston Symphony among others. She has served on and been honored by many musical organizations. A music scholarship in her name has been established at Boston University. Her list of works is maintained by the Wellesley College Library in Massachusetts. In recent years she has been honored with three different concerts featuring her compositions.
