This is one of the most brilliant works to be recorded. Solo violin work is extreamly precise, and musical, it is perhaps the best recording I've ever heard of the Schnittke sonata for violin. The sound quality of the CD is incredible, and is worth every penny.

I can honestly say that this is one of the best CD's I have purchased this year. The sound quality is superb, due in part to Chandos having used the new 20-bit technology. As for the music, I am very very happy with the selections. An absolutely terrific interpretation of the Miaskowsky, and this 20-year-old violinist is an absolute phenom! The Schnittke is by far the best interpretation I have ever heard, and the Paganini caprices are simply spectacular. It is great to see someone willing to take on an unknown work such as this. I cannot imagine how difficult playing a Paganini caprice could be with orchestra! I would even go so far as to say that Stepan Arman could be Canada's greatest (yet!) unknown young superstar. Kudos all around for a spectacular disc!
