About the Artist
Anna Polusmiak Anna Polusmiak was born in 1983 in Kharkiv, Ukraine. She began her study of piano at Kharkiv Special Music School for Gifted Children at age six, where she was a student of Sergei Polusmiak, Honored Artist of Ukraine. At age twelve she performed Rachmaninoffs Piano Concerto No.1 with Kharkiv Symphony Orchestra, Ukraine. Album Description
These three teenage pianists from the Karkiv Special Music School for Gifted Children, Karkiv, Ukraine came to the USA to continue their study of piano with Professor Sergei Polusmiac at NKY university. Professor Polusmiac immigrated from the Ukraine partly to escape difficult economic and social conditions. This disc contains a few compositions that may be unfamiliar to most US audiences. The performances speak for themselves.
