We are fortunate to have Richard Hickox putting his efforts into Choral recordings such as this. This performance would make the agnostic Brahms into a believer. Passion, power, beauty and any other discriptive words does not capture the emotion that Brahms put into this piece. And Hickox rightfully expounds on Brahms brilliance and gives listeners a fresh and fulfilling performance. The two soloists and the London gang all deserve equal praise as well. They truley played their trousers off! Also check out Hickox's recordings of the Haydn masses, they are exceptional. Bravo!
