Why?.......2001-01-19
Why on earth is this book out of print. Anyone who is remotely interested in the history of WW1 has by now undoubtably watched all the docos and read plenty of Sigfried Sassoon poems. I suppose that it is natural that this dreadful chapter of human history is amply represented by those novelists and poets who saw first hand the horrors that modern warfare can devise. The anthology that is the basis of this review, however, takes the reader to the home front, and into the lives of those mothers, wives, sisters and daughters who could only wait and hope. The lack of social power that these women felt seems to have been amplified by the frustration and fear that they felt for their fighting men. This selection of poetry fully captures the anguish that these women felt in their hopeless waiting, and this anthology I feel is an essential companion to the terrible poetic picture that the likes of Sassoon, Owen and others have long been known for.

I felt that this was a great book about the life in Aferica. It shows the excitement and the sorows that the author went through. I thought it was a good book.

Book Description
Lady Vevina Joyce and her brother Wilfred are forced to flee Ireland after being falsely accused of treason. On the road with Wellington's army, they meet an unexpected ally in the enigmatic Major Stewart Fitzgerald. Side by side they fight with their comrades in some of the most bitter battles of the Napoleonic Wars. Can Vevina clear her name, protect those she loves, and stop the Grand Army from taking over the whole of Europe in a bold and daring move engineered by the person responsible for her family's disgrace? Is Stewart really all that he seems? Appearances can be deceptive

Recommended for history lovers.......2001-04-15
Lady Vevina Joyce has gone from the toast of Dublin and Cork society to camp follower in only six months. To protect Viv, she and brother actually claim to be husband and wife as they aid the fight against the French as Napoleon Bonaparte seeks to control all of Europe.
Major Stewart Fitzgerald rescues Viv from fellow soldier Sergeant Hawkes, who seems determined to not only harm Viv, but also her brother. Stewart feels as if he's known Viv before, little suspecting that she was the woman who once changed the course of his life. Taking both Viv and her brother under his wing, Stewart finds Viv to be an enigmatic and alluring woman whom he can't resist. Her beguiling mix of sensuality and innocence stir his passion.
When their father went bankrupt, Viv and her brother lost everything. But it was Stewart's brother that causes their horrible change in fortune, making Viv's rescuer's motives suspect. Hawke's interest in Viv and her brother clearly demonstrate an enmity that links to Stewart's brother himself.
Deception and treachery lead Viv from war-torn Spain to the magnificent Alps, vividly created with talented author Sorcha MacMurrough's deft pen. While Viv's a little too perfect at times (I want to be able to accomplish as much as she can in a single day), the cleverly woven plot and magnificent sweep of history create a memorable tale of love and danger. SCARS UPON HER HEART is fascinating reading. Recommended.
Fantastic!.......1999-11-05

Book Description
Martina Ramsey hasnÂ't had an easy life. SheÂ's already lived through her worst nightmare, and if she doesnÂ't find someone to help her now, she is doomed to relive it. Finding someone she could trust is virtually impossible, but when she turns to Cameron Masters, a private investigator who has been through hell himself, she feels he will understand the betrayal she has suffered, the mistrust she feels, the guilt she carries. He should. HeÂ's suffered them all himself. She knows from her own experience that the scars he hides underneath his shirt are not the only ones he has.
As Cameron fights to protect his beautiful client he discovers he is losing his battle to protect himself from her. Martina is a fascinating, feisty spitfire who has a thing or two to teach him about life, about inner strengthÂand about love.

Scars of the Heart.......2003-10-14
If you read Vicotoria Waynes first book, Remember the Shadows, and loved it, you're sure to love Scars of the Heart, as well. I love her flair for giving the reader the feeling that you are there. If you like mystery and romance, it's all under one cover. This was definitly a book that I could not put down. I can't wait for her next book to come out.
She did it again........2003-09-26
I loved Victoria Wayne's first book, Remember the Shadows, and didn't think she could top it. Scars of the Heart is really good. It is fast paced and moves so fast you can't stop reading once you open it. It's a mystery right to the end and the love story really makes it great.
