Venice in a New Light.......2003-08-12

This is not the first novel that features Venice and mystery, but it may be the first that deals with today's terrorism and uses Venice as a major backdrop. Recommended for its descriptive power and obvious love for Venice.

A book of wonders.......2003-08-07

If you have ever been to Venice and fell in love with the city then you will be attracted to this novel. Although terrorism is the theme, and there is a mystery element to it, the narrative really deals with a love story that starts and ends in Venice. The descriptions of the lagoons are almost poetry, and indeed the book ends with a poem. It is probably more of a book for romantics than for persons who love the works of Ian Rankin and hard boiled detectived stories.

In sum, a lovely book for lovers of romance and Venice.

A Romantic Mystery.......2003-08-07

This takes the spy category to a different level. It is more a celebration of love and Venice than of terror and death, and it makes for a great read.
